Montford Bridge to Frankwell, Shrewsbury – approx. 12 miles
After getting kitted up and a safety brief, your paddle starts under the original “Montford Bridge”.
After a little while you enter the “Isle”, a large meander where the Severn reaches its most northerly point, you pass through wooded estates before reaching Shrewsbury. Shortly before Charles Darwin’s childhood home is visible from the river. Finishing your trip in the middle of Shrewsbury.

Due to safety reasons we do not hire to lone paddlers and operate a minimum group of two.
We do not hire to under 21s. Children and young adults need to be part of a family group.
Full Hire T&Cs
Single Kayaks are paddled using a double blade. We have a choice from
quick turning, straight running to the super stable
Sit-on-tops are paddled using a double blade. Fun super stable craft
Open Canoes are paddled using a single blade. Our canoes are fitted out for 2 people but
with the option to add an additional centre seat which is very useful for families with
young children. Two canoes can be rafted together for even more security with young children
Start time – bookable between 10am and 11am – finish between approx 3pm and 4pm
Meeting point – Frankwell Canoe Access in Shrewsbury just off Frankwell main carpark, from here we will transport you to Montford Bridge.
