We welcome adults, families (dogs welcome) and organised groups.
Kayaks, Sit-on-Tops and Open Canoes
Kayaks and Canoes are available for hire for use on the River Severn, for a half day or full day, in the Shrewsbury area.
Frankwell canoe ramp in Shrewsbury is a great place to start. From there you can discover the river upstream into the countryside, looking out for wildlife, including sand martins and kingfishers. Or, take a picnic and pullover onto a beach for a relaxing break. Then, paddle back with the flow returning to where you started your trip. If you have enough time, go down stream around The Quarry and around the Shrewsbury river loop, before paddling back to the start point.
We have a variety of boats to choose from and our friendly and approachable staff will be on hand to advise you and to make sure you have the kit you need;
Single Kayaks use a double bladed paddle. We have a choice of boats from quick turning, straight running to the super stable.
Sit-on-tops use a double bladed paddle. Fun super stable craft.
Open Canoes use a single bladed paddle. Our canoes are fitted out for two people, with the option to add an additional centre seat which is very useful for families with young children. Two canoes can be rafted together for even more security with young children.
Paddleboard (SUP) hire is also available.

Due to safety reasons we do not hire to lone paddlers and operate a minimum group of two.
We do not hire to under 21s. Children and young adults must be part of a family group.
